Triple Publishing Month!

A new month is here and I’m going to triple publish! The two books that I’ve help design, format, and edit are in the final week and I can taste the publishing button. There’s a few cover design changes and the final proof that only happens before the printing begins. The third book is one of my own journals, Imagine Inspire Create 52 weeks of action and gratitude.

After I returned their final proof, I did a seat wiggle and arm pump to celebrate. I don’t know if I’ll get much sleep after the excitement. Their big day is approaching after all that hard work. Now, it’s time for social media blasting and the telephone game to get out the word. The only worry is getting them the author copies in time but the late nights have paid off.

Having published several books of my own, I the celebration is great but short because the next phase of marketing and promotions begins. I also recommend trying to plan events to read your book, talk about your book, or speak to book clubs. Ask friends to join events, or sign-up for a table at the local book fair. The work isn’t done.

My job is to help the other authors to become experts in posting in their social media, keep up a new blog, and post like crazy. The bulleted list that I shared in a previous post was sent to them as a template or a set of prompts to make things easier.

Our only worry for the next few weeks, is hoping that we can get our author copies in time for upcoming events and planned parties. My two new authors decided to have a book party on the day one of them lost her husband while on vacation in Mexico. They wanted to remember him with a book party on the anniversary of his death. This makes sense because their book is about sharing and healing. All of those tears can finally be released with a celebration.

My other author is going on his 5th book, and when I started working with him he only had 2. Seeing his growth has been the most rewarding because one of us has to make it. With our expanded network of authors we all stand a better chance because we can share what works and doesn’t work with each other.

You know what’s coming. My homework for you today is to ask another author questions about publishing, or whatever will help you with your work. Build your network and add to your resources.

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
