Happy New Year!

The ringing of the New Year bells may be ringing a little too loudly for those celebrated the coming a new beginning with too much enthusiasm. Another year to a writer means new books to read, more writing, and creating a new list of to-do’s.

Maybe this will be the year that you sign that contract or see your book on the shelves of your local hang-out. There’s something magical about the start of a new year. It’s okay to dream, and dream big.

All the listening to audible books on Paris widened my wish list. A city that’s meant to be wandered and uncovered. As Elaine Sciolino, wrote “Paris is a city of secrets.” Imagine the city’s slowly telling revealing it’s secret stories with you. Discovering something new about a building, a doorway, or a crack in a building would give way to a small smile on the way to my favorite cafe.

I picture my typewriter in the window and my fingers clicking away as tourists and locals bustle about their day. Writing and art are my full time job and I found a new home with blue roofs and too many carbs. I guess I’ll just have to keep on walking and turning around new corners.

Weekends are spent traveling across borders and trying new foods. Blank pages fill with quick sketches and more stories of new places. Of course, this leads to another book, a journal, and new art.

Just imagine. Dream on this year and take the small steps to make it happen. Journal and most of all – do! Happy New Year!

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
