The roads went quiet yesterday morning and I spent it watching life feed road cameras. The roads were covered and the few cars I did see moving along I hoped were emergency workers or those who didn’t need to make a coffee run. Many places did close or had call-ins. Skeleton crews were running the show up north for a day.
All I was doing inside was trying to prepare for the winds picking-up for today. A snow storm followed by blizzard conditions for a day were an interesting way to leave the month of February. My month of love floated right on by and I felt the clock ticking.
My next event is coming up next weekend and I’m trying to lift up my motivation to get more pieces done. Basically, I’m still feeling a lot of Steven Pressfield’s self resistance. I know what I need to do but getting myself to do it is a whole other story.
Rather than feeling conflicted or art or writing, I’m not choosing. My blog will continue with the time that I have and I have to do what I need to do to get it done. Having any kind of creative burst is better than none.
The one good thing about listening to other entrepreneurs and writers who’ve struggled is they given me the voice in the back of mind to crank out a few pieces and keep going even when I don’t feel inspired. Sometimes, prompts take a while to kick in but they do work.
I’ve been telling myself to just sit down and do it so that I make something every day, and my blog is written to churn those words trapped in my head. So, your only prompt as we go into this weekend is finish one page before Monday is here again.
My posts are Monday to Friday.
