More Games

It’s late into the night and I’m sitting in front of my keyboard distracted by another season of Game of Thrones. The writers managed to keep me involved enough to to want to know who’s going to survive this fight for power. I want to know if family members wills survive on their own and reunite, but with the way of war I’ve been kept on edge because they killed off one of the people considered “honorable” in the first few episodes.

I admit that I have a few favorites that I want to survive another day, and so I guess the writers are doing their job. The graphic content and seeing people at their ugliest moments makes me draw parallels to our own history but unfortunately, showing that is all too easy. To be honest, I don’t know if I want to go that deep or reach that far.

The point of any book is the art of the story. Right now, I’m at the point of the story when the audience learns more about the characters who had a less than honorable entrance into the earlier episodes and I’m beginning to understand what shaped their hatred, or cowardice. Sometimes, I even get a glimpse of their humanity. The fact that the writers are letting the audience see all the gray areas of the personality in the story tells me that this is not so black and white.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised that the point is in the title. The story is about survival and what it takes to hold the power of the throne. I do have have to say that I’m kept on edge wondering if the writers are going to kill off another main character for the sake of the story. The times when they saved some of them did have me holding my breath, and so the suspense continues.

This main character needs to try to get some sleep and let her own dragons sleep before tomorrow. Hopefully, I’ll have time to work on a few of my own pages as the week moves forward.

I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
