Last of Summer

The last month of summer rolled in with sun and activities all weekend. My weekend started with a few extra hours of sleep in the morning until my husband bounded in to wake me up in time for an outside picnic. Thanks to some smart friends they choose a well shaded area on a hill and the breeze made the day bearable.

My sugar climbed as Korean cooked dishes started to appear and I filled my belly with different kinds of kimchi, bulgogi, fruits, and more kinds of kimchi. I snuck in a small piece of cake and did my best not to dive into glutinous rice to make my doctor happy. I guess this part of the woes of body change an aging. While I feel this is wrong because of my Asian heritage, I want to add years to my life not take them away and that means following doctor’s orders.

I met some new people and hopped from conversation to conversation. I also talked with fellow artists and travelers sharing about our creative lifestyle. My husband and I also did some planning for next month because we’re taking part in a Kimchi Festival in September. Hopefully, we see some of our new friends again next month.

I asked different people in our group if they were going to the State Fair and they’re were mixed reactions. Some said they were avoiding large crowds, and other say they only go every few years. As a foodie, I told my husband we’re going. Since my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, I’m not too worried about our budget. Sharing everything also helps.

The few times that I skipped our Minnesota event of the year, I regretted not going. I like to check out the artist and bizarre area. I even play a few games in the midway. Of course, the everything on a stick or fried is a must for one day. If you haven’t been here for our State Fair, then you’re missing out.

The rest of my weekend was filled with walking for exercise, a little shopping, and more episodes of Game of Thrones to get closer to the new season. I hear my own story dragons calling. Let’s see what kind of fantasy worlds unfold this week.

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
