Before the end of the week I’ve been busy getting all my errands done before last minute crowds head to the grocery stores and other places before the Sunday. This weekend is going to busy with those celebrating Valentine’s Day early and the big game. I’m hoping getting things done early will help me avoid long lines and crammed restaurants.
As you know from my earlier posts, I have some Valentine treats saved for this weekend and I have a few favorite meals stocked. My husband did surprise me with dinner reservations at one of my favorite places on the 14th. I have some small gifts tucked away and hidden. Trying to get a card written and buy gifts isn’t easy when we spend most of our time together.
There’s been times when he’s in his back room creating his 3D prints and I’ve been hiding in a corner trying to think of the right words for his birthday or holiday cards. I could use one of my own illustrated cards but I feel like that’s cheating. I wouldn’t want him to use one of my own cards, so I go out and find one by another creator.
Yesterday, I did something for myself and it felt good. I splurged a little on some self care items that I don’t normally buy at that kind of price but I treated myself. Feeling like I was having my own spa day helped me unwind and relax.
Now, if only I could get my brain to stop driving me like I’m working in my own sweat shop. Often, I push myself too far and sacrifice things like sleep. My body reminds me that I’m getting older and maybe shouldn’t do that too many days in a row. Nights before events look like a midnight cram session and I’m red-eyed but smiling at my vendor table.
I suppose I should get back to the purpose of my blog. Today should be about action. We are getting closer to the day of giving hearts, so think love, romance, or heart warming memories. Hand write a few lines to someone special for your prompt today. Write for 5-10 minutes.
