Writing Prompt Day!

For me, a new year is always a time for reflection and for setting new goals. I think about the progress and setbacks of my experiences over the past year. Spending so much thinking, I realized I missed the reason I started this blog – to get out of my writer’s block.

I find that I miss my months of daily prompts. I’m listening to new books but my muscle memory misses writing. There’s something about the tactile feeling of typing on the keys and holding a pen.

Coming out of a holiday break, I had a hard time motivating myself to back into the daily habits I created but the pathway was there. Somewhere in the folds of my gray matter I knew how to get back on track. I told myself, “Just one post.”

Some days were painfully slow and not very enjoyable but I’m back at it. I decided to post a prompt for today for those that might be struggling to get back into writing again at the start of the year.

The words I would like you to focus on are – dogs and sweaters. Combine these any way you like. Me, I’m picturing a wiener dog in a red knit winter sweater walking outside. Turn the dog into a hero, a deceive or just a pet out enjoying a walk. Write for 5-10 minutes.

Until tomorrow! Most posts are Monday through Friday!

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
