Labor Day Frenzy

Labor Day is here and I’m running around the house like a crazy person because I have an outdoor show coming up this weekend at a new venue. The grand plans that I had for different pieces turned into a crying session as I watched one of my figures that took me all day fall over face first in the oven. I guess I doo need the puppeting wire. How could I forget that clay softens when it heats up.

As usual, I bought many different supplies with tons of ideas and additions to my Pinterest boards but not all of them worked. I am happy with a few, such as my sparkling witch hats. But another hurdle appeared. I’m out of glitter clay and that means another almost daily trip to the craft store hoping they didn’t run out. My cauldrons also look improved from last year.

I know when there’s a show coming up because sleeping, eating, and having to go to the bathroom always get annoying to do. I just don’t understand why I can’t become superhuman when needed. Why can’t everything work out the way I see it in my mind?

I guess when you experiment there are bound to be those ideas that work and those that looked better on paper. Due to my upcoming show, I’ll see how many posts I can get completed but I’ll keep trying.

My writing prompt exercises have come in handy at times. Instead of sitting at my desk with a lump of clay. I’ve forced myself to just make something, anything, even it’s not the theme I originally planned. The point is to get something done. On that note, I’ll leave you to return to your own keyboards. Just try to fro 5-10 minutes even if it’s dribble.

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
