September Cleaning

The big countdown is going on my clock and I’m doing my best to try to keep the nervous energy from causing anxiety over not having everything on my list done before the big day. My list of endless ideas always get cut short and I have to be okay with going with what I have.

All those competitions that I watched on NetFlix are my own reality show right now. The all nighters have returned and I feel the lack of sleep in my body from pushing my limits. Thankfully, this past weekend was a holiday weekend and I was given one extra day.

This cycle of worrying about being able to fill my shelves keeps me going into the late hours. People around me are used to my yawning and sleepy eyes. My crazy self keeps adding in new events because I can’t stop. I was born a creator.

My husband says that I hop from project to project because he doesn’t understand the method of my madness. If he saw all of the ideas pouring out of my head his eyes would glaze over. He just gets a glimpse of my crazy. He does his best to keep the budget down but I seem to fear running out of supplies. I just remind him that I use it eventually. I don’t know if I convinced him but I try as he shakes his head when we stop at the store again.

When things pile up, I set a goal to use up old supplies for about a month before I buy anything new. Like I said, I do my best to use everything I buy. One or two might make it to the Goodwill and then it’s not wasted. Some of the flea markets that we’ve been attending might include some of old display items. There’s also online reselling.

Maybe we should make this month a visit to our slush piles or anything you’ve let sit in a corner. Go through your old manuscripts and see if you can get one finished. Preptober is around the corner. You could also clean your writing space to prepare. My creations are calling again. Until tomorrow!

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
