The After Party

My late night posting and video taking came to an end around midnight. The show lineup was filled with different rap artists from around the twin cities and a little spoken word by PinkRichie$. Words flowed out like poetry with their thought filled lyrics about their struggles and spirituality.

When Phillip Saint John took center stage to celebrate the release of his new album, Divine Wisdom, I joined the crowd in the pit. Video after video rolled as my camera followed him on stage. Part of the excitement was from his choice of performance clothing. He was wearing one the handmade Kimonos from The Art Shoppe in Minneapolis. There’s nothing like artists appreciating other artists.

He sang some of his experimental hip-hop with a little soul and everyone danced around the stage. There were some people off the beat and doing some kind of experimental dancing of their own too. He talked about how he poured everything into this new album.

One good thing about PSJ is that he still responds to DM’s and he remembered us when he made his purchase at the outdoor street festival. He’s like his new kimono, one of a kind. Kind and talented.

I hope we run into each other again as artists! Congratulations PSJ on your new release!

Your prompt for the day is fair music. That’s right we’re still on fair week in Minnesota. Write for 5-10 minutes.

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
