I reviewed my insights page again on WordPress and I’ve officially reached 76,000 total words. My prompting and blogging are the size of a book. I guess this means that I don’t have any excuses when it comes to getting a novel written. It also means that using my exercises work!
Knowing that it’s possible to write a book by breaking things down to one page a day helps me understand that it’s possible. I feel like I’ve come out of a long hibernation of a few years. Do I feel passionate about writing every day? Have you been reading my posts because the answer is no! I just learned to form a habit to get it done. I’ve made up some of the time of no publishing with my journal series, which was also part of my own therapy because I didn’t know if I could get back on track again.
I had to spend the 2 more years proving to myself that I could write again. The veil over the mysterious process was removed. There were several days when it was hard to sit down but I did it. Then, using prompts and exercises to get my pen moving wasn’t so hard. One thought lead to another and I was on track again. I stopped waiting for a creative burst, and learned to make those moments happen when I needed them.
Of course, you can tell the days when I did feel more inspired than others but the days when I wasn’t as passionate were still chunks that I used to build my stories. Then, thoughts like, this is easy I should be able to write a whole novel started to creep into my mind, and that’s how I knew my prompting therapy worked.
Today is a milestone day and I’m going to add it my box! I also wish you the best in your own journey.
My posts are Monday through Friday.
