Oopsie!

I’ve been thinking about life at home lately and how odd it would be to tell a stranger what it’s like. My husband is usually sitting at his desk in the spare room creating dinosaurs, dragons, and all kinds of creatures with his 3D printer. I’m usually making miniaturized sculptures and earrings. Yes, we are adults – well some days.

The age group that’s in our market are usually being told by their parents not to touch anything at art fairs. I’ve had the experience of one or two breaking some of my pieces and the parents quickly leave embarrassed – it might be better if they bought something but that’s not usually the case. When someone sees our things there should be an atmosphere of fun, not crying and lecturing.

Did I mention that some people on TikTok and other social media found one author page? I guess I should have realized that some of my posts spill over into my personal feed. There’s a reason I have an adult author name. How would I explain that to my parents or in-laws? I might be the one turning red, the wrong kind of red. I have yet to resolve this. My posts are clean but I have an alter writing ego and that’s all I can say because they might be reading this post.

I guess not all is lost, I used to read my mom’s romance novels and at least she won’t be too shocked. This is awkward part of what I do. I picture future awards and praise and then they read it. Hopefully, I can avoid long conversations on my writing. I can totally relate to the TikToks where children come home from school and they’re teachers asks if they can do a class rendering. I laugh until I realize that’s me too.

So, if anyone I know reads one of those and is shocked please pretend you didn’t. If I’m related to you in any way, then just pretend and find my children’s books instead. I’m not perfect as a person. There’s the good, the bad, and the gray middle so just go with it. Don’t say a word. I’m just glad you can read.

Until tomorrow!

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
