Writing the Future

Not only did I get my travel bug out of the way but I managed to sneak in a few more episodes of The Mandalorian because a writer’s interest in other worlds is always on upload mode. I thought about how each episode required new sets and my husband proceeded to tell me that most of it’s rendered and there’s programs that can randomly generate worlds that can be tweaked by CGI experts.

I find it interesting how invention follows our minds. Real world things have been created because George Lucas sat on beach in Hawaii with Stephen Spielberg and talked about creating the worlds of Star Wars. Military intelligence has used the minds of writers for generations, and I’ll let you be the judge of whether that’s good or bad but who hasn’t thought about spy devices. Well, maybe that’s just me.

I don’t know if you remember in a past blog post, but at one point in my life I wanted to write spy novels. Specifically, I was going to write about Femme Fatales because there’s a lack of strong female Asian characters. A little bit assassin with a purpose, who doesn’t harm innocent civilians is still in my pile of manuscripts. After all, Ian Fleming did get his start of James Bond novels by working for the military intelligence.

Your writing goals might not be inventing imaginary, miniature, or grand scale devices for spies but you might be writing a futuristic novel that someone might pick up and use for a reference later. When you write about levitating vehicles, it might inspire someone who can actually invent it. The possibilities of our imaginations is endless.

When you put your fingers to your keyboard, or pen to paper, that we really do live through our words and I hope you make good use of them.

I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
