Winter Wonderland

This week has been filled with drizzle the past few days and the Minnesota dread set in at the start of this weekend. I actually saw the s—— word in the forecast. I don’t know about you but I left those spaces blank for a reason and I do call the winter weather word a four letter word because whenever I have plans during, it decides to storm. I guess I’ve turned into a little chicken when it comes to driving during the winter but a few years ago I came face-to-face with a sign that almost impaled me as I slide up an embankment.

I love snow covered trees as I drive down the road but I can get the winter wonderland without the ice on the roads or parking lots? Too bad we haven’t invented a better solution that allows us to appreciate the beauty without feeling terrified while driving in white outs.

Okay, I’ll stop now that I got the ugh out the winter s word. I just need to remind myself that the winter is good for hot chocolate, snuggling under blankets while reading, flying across the ice on skates, sledding, taking a winter sleigh ride during the holidays, making snowmen, and watching glittering white fluff covering tree branches after a storm. There’s beauty there. Maybe the solution is to put my car on skates.

I’ll be tucked under blankets finishing my editing projects and getting in a few more words this weekend. Thoughts of hot coffee, pastries, and holiday shopping may entice me. So, if you pass someone driving at snail pace, it’s probably me.

Those who don’t want to venture outside, I hope you have time to put pen to paper or to get typing. Happy writing this weekend!

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
