Getting Ready to Write

Preptober begins tomorrow and many fingers will start to tap the keys in fury because they want to finish that novel they’ve been working on for months. Are you joining all the writers who participate this year? I said I might not have time because of the art events I’m in for the next few months but I might use writing and blogging as my break.

I find that I usually have to trade one creative activity for another to give my mind a break from one form of medium to another. The switch helps me relax and gain energy for the next creative burst. I don’t know why my brains works this way but it does. It’s like the switching of gears keeps them from grinding down.

If you are interested in participating in Preptober or NaNoWriMo this year, here is the link at https://nanowrimo.org. You find resources and all kinds of tools to help you get closer to your writing goal before the year ends.

This also means that it’s time for a self plug. If you need help getting back into your writing, then you can find my Writer’s Journal below. You will get 30 days of prompts, space to journal, and notes.

Remember, prepping your story doesn’t all have to be words. You can create vision boards for your characters, or use photo collages for your story. This month is here to help you get started, and this is your only prompt before next month.

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
