Funny Titles

I stepped outside the other day and almost turned around to go hide under my blankets as soon as I saw some white fluffy stuff falling onto the ground. No lambs crossed the Wisconsin border to have a sheering party in my backyard. Spring is supposed to be here but this is Minnesota and it totally makes sense that it begins with more snow.

Everyone who went outside today groaned with me then, I realized that most people would turn around and decide to work from home today. So I skipped to the car because there wouldn’t be as many on the road. The one thing I love about people being able to work from home is fewer cars during rush hours in the morning and evening. Driving around the past few years has been great and I hope some normals don’t return.

The past few weeks I’ve kept up the habit of writing through my blog and exercises but the midnight oil has been burning. My crazy mind decided to get serious about a side hustle for my art after a few shows last year. All of my books were in attendance and it’s another benefit of being a writing. I can bring both pieces of my art to book shows and books to my art shows.

Am I worried about having time to finish my books? No, I’m a problem solver too. I use my art to create new characters and scenes that I can turn into more illustrated books for children or graphic novels. My need to create art and publish are both fulfilled by combing the two. I also call these my “filler” books while I work on the longer length novels.

Yes, splitting my time does mean that it will take longer to finish some of my novels but I’ve learned to stop fighting the different muses in my head. I think they enjoy filling me with the need to create a new art piece as soon as I start on a new novel, or write as soon as I create a new piece. I guess this is part of my Superwoman syndrome of wanting to do it all.

You know how I’m going to solve this while I try to get the side hustle going into business mode? I’m going to combine the two things I love again. If you start seeing miniaturized books sculpted by hand out of clay, then I’m still thinking about writing. Every writer needs to express themselves, why not give them a way to wear or decorate with what they love doing.

One decision that was still a good idea, was splitting my TikTok accounts for audiences. I wished I would have done it earlier. Well, I have more work to do because I like giving myself jobs. Your job for today will be thinking about funny book titles. Yes, book titles. Imagine a bookstore filled with funny book covers and titles. What would you name your books that would make people laugh out loud? Write them down in your notebook for 5-10 minutes.

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
