April Fools

The first of April might make some people hide from their friends or not answer the phone because it’s synonymous with pranks. It’s because of this day, that I created a different kind of reminder on what to do today. Instead of spreading mischief, I make it a point to try to make someone’s day, donate to a cause, and write something light – a situation that overcomes an April Fools.

I figure people had enough of their friends fake phone calls or things that turned out to be not so funny. I choose a warm hearted kind of laughter that will really make someone laugh or smile, or that’s actually funny instead of bordering on spiteful. Yes, I’ve had some not so funny ideas pulled on me. I might be one of those sensitive ones but it’s me. It’s who I am.

One day I finally understood that I have the freedom to change what kind of day that April Fools is not just for myself but for someone else. So, for those looking to pull a fast one on someone or a friend, please go around me today and choose someone else. I’ll stop by later to cheer them back up with their favorite coffee, snack, or better yet a good book.

Thinking of today, your prompt for today is to write a warm hearted April Fools for 5-10 minutes. Remember to share or comment.

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
