The clock kept ticking faster and faster as the day moved into the evening and I couldn’t catch my breath on the hamster wheel. When I tried to stop, I only ending up jumping into another wheel that spun faster. One was working on a report and the next was trying to keep the habit of writing going. Imagine little legs doing the road runner inside of a wheel moving too fast. No need to mention what happens when hamsters go too fast for their legs.
My only saving grace yesterday was my husband. He had my soda delivered to the door and made dinner for us. My hands and mouth rotated from the computer screen to the plate of warm food. There’s nothing like a warm meal when you’re busy. I know other writers who wrote dedications to their spouses for going with sandwiches or quick meals while they were writing their next novel.
Good thing he has his own hobbies to work on. We try to balance our to-do lists but there’s been many times when I’ve had to rely on him to see that I’m fed, have clean clothes, and the dishes are done. I don’t feel too guilty this week because I just did a deep clean over this weekend. As the years go one, we try to balance each other in personality and routine.
I finally fell out of my wheel near the stroke of midnight. It’s already today and I’m just going to bed. I might think I’m awake when I sleep. Doesn’t that sound like a prompt? Well, it’s the prompt for today. Write about a time when you thought you were awake and then you woke up.
My posts are Monday through Friday.

Lol, I sometimes think that a successful marriage is largely based on being a good housemate more than anything. My partner and I have been living together for years, and we get along really well because we complement each other’s favourite chores and timetables. Thanks for this cosy reminder of a nice relationship!
