When I arrived home last night, I wasn’t in the mood to do anything other than watch videos and sit on sofa. Running around all day and dealing with details left me drained of energy. I usually feel this right before dinner time. I suppose it didn’t help that I didn’t take time to have lunch.
Skipping meals doesn’t do the best thing for your energy level. Would I like to meditate for an hour or spend time doing Yoda to get myself in the right state of mind? Well, if I wanted to I would have done it by now.
When a new year begins, I don’t always go with resolutions. I do tend to feel the need to change things up at the start of a new year, and I guess that’s what these weeks have been. I’m trying to find my new routine. Keeping things the same all the time is boring to me. I like to change things up to boost creativity and get more accomplished but I’m still trying to find a rhythm.
I haven’t found that stride in my art or my writing this year. I feel more like the tortoise than the hare at the start of the finish line this year. Let’s just hope that I can keep a steady pace, even in the face of a long race. The year’s that I’ve been the hare lead to burnout, and that’s never a good feeling. Steady and true, that’s my motto for this year.

Since I can’t leave you without a writing prompt for the day, think about being athletic today. Picture a star athlete or someone just trying to get in shape. Think of an obstacle. Then, think about them meeting someone who helps them get past that obstacle. Write for 5-10 minutes. A quick short.
