Day #21: Reading Day

Today we get to take a little break for Preptober. Hold back those pens and keyboards, I know some may want to keep going but pausing is important. A break means that we’re going to take out our folder and read through all the contents.

Yes, today is a reading day and that’s all we’re going to do. Take it easy. Swaddle in blankets and cozy up to your notes, research, outline, and starter chapters.

Traveling back and forth through what you’ve done will help you see where your story is at and where it needs to go. Going over timelines help you see if everything is in the right order. You may also see if something needs to be changed.

Read what you have and then read it again. The more work you do in the beginning, the less editing you’ll have to do later.

We’ll start on something new tomorrow. My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
