I had all the intention of cleaning this weekend and some places did get a scrub. A few made it to the local Good Will to find a new home but my event clutter is still in a pile. Did I mention the new supplies I purchased because I’m a Pinterest addict?
Yes, I feel like a true TikToker with all the right memes. It doesn’t make sense to buy more supplies when I haven’t used the ones I just purchased but my lightbulb mind just doesn’t stop. I have to try my new idea. Trying new things is good but controlling the clutter that follows is a little messy. IKEA can’t even help me.
There’s only one thing to do for the next 3 weeks, and that’s create another challenge. I feel my calendar and lists coming back out to join me. My mind is pulled from Halloween to Christmas just like all the retailers but I wanted my own business right? My handmade side hustle requires work. Just like bad writing days, there’s times when I don’t want to show up.
I’ve been at a productive minimum for a few weeks with Game of Thrones playing in the background. I like noise while I work but I was sucked in too many times. I’ve managed to get a few miniatures done almost every day but I know it’s my minimum. I stare in awe at posters who show pictures full of rows and bins of what they’ve done. It’s easy to get down and come to a hault because I feel overwhelmed.
My normal human reaction is to go into sloth mode. Those are the times when I follow my own prompts to kick myself into gear. I guess I’ll be kicking myself a lot this week. I’ve also found that having more time isn’t always a good thing because it gives me the excuse of waiting to get started.
I’ll be muttering under my breath, “busy, busy, busy.” As for my writing, if I manage to get my posts done this week, then it’s a win. Send me some good thoughts. I’m going to need it this week.
My posts are Monday through Friday.
