We’re coming to the end of the month and I can’t keep one of my projects quiet. Over the past year, my journey started by creating prompts because I stopped writing. I published 5 novels in the past and then my unfinished novels sat in the corner but life happened. I started making excuses and my dream of continuing to publish more novels every year moved into a dark corner.
When the world started to change in 2020 and I spent more time at home, the pile of manuscripts collecting dust started to glare at me. I thought about the times, when I sat inside my car in the middle of winter writing on my laptop instead of going to a New Year’s party. Needless to say, security started to circle me in the parking lot wondering why someone was sitting in their car for hours at a time with the laptop light glowing through the window. But I didn’t care. My fingers kept going and when the clock struck midnight, I was still typing away while my husband enjoyed the party inside.
What happened to that passion, that call to the keyboard in the middle of night. I wanted to return to that place that overflowed with endless words. The past months haven’t been easy, especially in the beginning. I created a schedule and a routine to do my best to write during the week and my blog was born. I thought if I shared my writing resources and prompts that it might help someone else having the same struggle.
The big project that I’m working on is finally taking shape. I’m going to share my writing exercises and techniques that resembles my journals over the past year. Inside, I have 30 days of writing prompts, space to write down your favorite books to keep track of them, and other places to scribble to help open your creative tool box and get closer to your goal of a finished novel. Yes, this is a different kind of published book but it’s helped me develop my unfinished novels further than they were. Most of all, my writing journal meant to help you love to write again.
I’ll let you know when I hit the publish button again soon!
Follow as I post on my progress throughout the month and share the experience.
