Silent Nights

Looking out the window in the dead of the night at the quiet streets that are strangely without the white sparkles in the moonlight. I blink a few times to make sure that I’m not hallucinating. A power bigger than myself listened to my prayer because I’m getting my brown Christmas.

Yes, there might be some upset over what I asked for this year but I don’t care. Those people who wish for the white fluff must not have to drive during the winter. I can do without the knuckle gripping, anxiety filled episodes. Christmas light attractions should not include looking at cars you pass in the ditch.

Well, enough of the weather reports of the Twin Cities of Minnesota. I’m driving around with a smile on my face this holiday season for other reasons. My plans for my art business exceeded goals that I set last year at this time.

I’m also curled under the blankets doing another one of my favorite things. Nothing but typing on my keyboard. My last event of the year ended over the weekend and I get to walk around in the lights, shopping crowds, and holiday music doing nothing but relaxing.

I hear some holiday shorts and goals lists calling my name. I’m taking out my own writing prompts and exercises again to work off any dust after focusing on my art this year. Creations will be stirring in my Christmas stories.

I’m starting out my new year celebrations the right way. It’s time to work on my books again. I hope you take time to pause, maybe get out your pen for one last try. Capture the crazy of the holiday, the resolutions for the new year, or a quiet night in cold silence. Stir up those mice in the middle of the night.

Until next year! Happy Holidays!

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
