Sunday is here and I’m heading to day #2 of my Fall Bonanza craft sale event in Minnesota. I think I had icicles hanging off my nose on the artificial turf of the Woodbury Sports Center. My guess is they rely on body heat of athletes playing sports instead of stationary handmade artists.
No matter what the weather is inside or outside up here, I’m still moving forward through another day of Preptober. We are on Day #30 and we only have 1 more day to go.
Other people around you might have trick or treats on their mind but I hear the pages calling your name. You added yesterday and if you’re anything like me, you might have gone overboard. So it’s only natural that today is subtraction day after you added.
That’s right, today it’s time to subtract and edit out all the unnecessary adjectives and adverbs. Try the Hemingway method of getting the most pure sentences. Find your one true sentence because it’s the essence of what we’re trying to do with our stories. We’re trying to tell truths that other people can feel.
Get out your red pen and mark up the pages. We’ll celebrate the close of Preptober tomorrow!
My posts are Monday through Friday.
