Ice Blocks

This we had falling trees and power outages from high winds for a few hours and that meant an ice cream run after dinner because we didn’t have power for air conditioning. So we took to the car for a few hours to cool off not knowing if the power would get restored before bedtime and my delicate skin prayed for a cool night’s sleep. This northern body doesn’t sleep well in hot conditions.

Okay, so I’m a little spoiled by modern technology but on days when you can cook eggs on the roof of your car up here, I’m all all for it. I either fill a bathtub with ice and go to sleep or I turn on the air, and the first option can get a little wet. Slipping into crisp, cool sheets after sweltering temperatures is my kind of luxury.

The thing that excites me about fall and winter are a good night’s sleep where I don’t wake up sweating because I forgot to lower the temperature settings. I mean, If I could sleep on ice, I would.

Enough of weather talk, how is your summer writing going? I’ll be honest it’s been a struggle not to go into vacation mode. I’ve managed to keep up the blogging with a few days off here and there but getting the next novel done has been taken over by summer art events. Looks like most of my writing will be done after our final falls events because getting another business up and running outside my writing is an uphill climb.

Teetering back and further between the things I love to do is difficult most days. Every day I have to choose one over the other. My breaks are getting this blog done and remembering to market the books I have published. Yes, don’t forget to share what you’ve done. That’s all for your homework today. Share what you do on social media or within your writing circle.

I have to get back to my ice block. Until tomorrow!

My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
