Happy 4th of July

The beginning of our week is starting out with a bang, sorry I couldn’t resist. Happy 4th of July! I hope you got your fill of celebratory food and extra time to get in some writing. Most of us in Minnesota spend this weekend outdoors, around the campfire, and at the lake. Our overcast skies changed some plans for fireworks but it means less time cowering or shaking for pets.

I was so close to buying a puppy this weekend but the thought of leaving a furry in a kennel or without the time needed to give them attention knew better. By the way, I normally stick to the topic of writing and prompts but for those who want to celebrate all the freedoms of being an American, you can come visit us in Minnesota. Our governor celebrates women here. That’s all I have to say on that topic.

No matter where you are or what you’re doing, I hope you have time to relax with your pen. Just about everyone I know is thankful for the extra day to do nothing but relax. Time curled up in a corner with a drink and your journal is a good way to reset the week.

In fact, I may take the rest of the week to go silent on my blog. But no worries, this is time to get more content ready and time to spend on other projects. One thing I’m trying to work on is remembering to video what I do. In other words, I’m making a switch this week to add to my TikTok and YouTube Vlog. All us need to go with the flow of changing media to stay relevant to our current followers.

This blog was started to keep my fingers in motion but I can’t ignore that most people are on social media channels that include video. I need to build up that library. I’m thinking of a series that includes prompts from my Writer’s Journal.

I’ll return to my regular posts next week. My posts are Monday through Friday.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
