I feel an hourly countdown in the early morning hours today. I’m up before the sun starts to rise in the east and I’m full of ideas. Whether or not I stay awake long enough to do them is another question. I must be excited about my free weekend. The first thing I’m going to do is get to my a local bakery early and fill my bag with treats for the rest of the weekend.
My idea of Halloween treats is filling a bag with French pastries and all kinds of tasty treats for the table at home while I sip on a drink and watch Hallmark. Maybe I’ll get in a few more ink drawings before the end of the weekend. For a few hours this morning my fingers will be at the keyboard contemplating our word for the day – Slither.
Right away, I think of Halloween and creepy, crawlys. I don’t know if I’ve ever inked a snake on paper or in a story. It is a Chinese zodiac sign. Or, maybe I’ll spot someone who slithers through the crowd today. A cute furry could slither under the table as it tries to snatch up a crumb. I’ll let my imagination go for a few hours this morning and then I might need a nap.
I’ve never been a morning person. My idea of getting up early is going to a local bakery in my exercise clothes, having a coffee, getting a few things, and then crashing because my body went into shock. I might slither off the sofa and back into bed before I wake up again. Everyone in my family, and now my husband knows the joy of waking me up too early. Let’s say they don’t every bother me too early.
Don’t worry, I’ll wake up a little later, okay 2 hours later, and then I’ll be back at my studio table to finish some more ideas. Netflix and the Hallmark channels will get maxed out in the afternoon. Then, it’s time for a relaxing dinner. Take-out is my favorite on the weekend.
I think my routine is worthy of a repeat tomorrow. The only change will be the trick-or-treaters running around the neighborhood. I’m all in for a quiet nap filled weekend. I hope you get time to enjoy your weekend. Celebrate if your into everything spooky!
Until next month! My posts are Monday through Friday.
