Happy 4th of July Weekend! Many Minnesotans are headed to their cabin at the lake to enjoy a long weekend. A procession of boat parades, hours of activities on the water, and nights by the campfire will be in full force as we reach melting temperatures again. Those who decide to stay in the city will be on the hunt for fireworks and walks around the local city lakes. Here you don’t have to leave the city to enjoy a lakeside view but they do get crowded when the sun is out. Experiencing our winters up North, we take our summers seriously.
My weekend will mean an opportunity to return to my keyboard and finish a journal that I was working on before preparations for my featured artist spot took over my life. This new journal will feature more prompts but this time there’s a focus on ways to inspire creativity, and this book is meant for writing down your thoughts all year round or 52 weeks.
Using 30 days of writing prompts and challenges worked so well over the past year, that I’m continuing the trend. The problem that we all face is how often events in our lives can limit our time and extend the time it takes to reach the goals we write down at the beginning of every year. Exercises that I use are designed to help me stay more consistent throughout an entire year even if unexpected things happen.
One other thing I plan on doing is getting caught up on the posts of the people I follow. Ideas spark other ideas. The tools that fellow authors and artists have shared, went into my own resource box. So, fellow writers, if you have something that’s helped you get published, let me know if the comments.
I hope everyone enjoys their holiday and gets some extra writing time in! I’ll see you back here next week!
My posts are Monday through Friday. You can find a copy of my new Writer’s Journal at https://www.amazon.com/Writers-Journal-Writing-Prompts-Notes/dp/B0931QRL7C.
