Publishing Day is Here!

Publishing Day is here! Someone must have been listening or reading my article because my Writer’s Journal 30 Day Prompts, Notes, and More and Gardening Journal are now available! I’m published again! You can’t see me but I’m doing the victory dance because 2 years ago getting a sentence on a page was a struggle. Publishing a resource journals to help other writers and creatives wasn’t even a bubble in my head.

One day of creating a writing prompt and getting 5 minutes of writing raw without worry about a novel put me on the right track.  Manuscripts that sat in a dark corner saw the light of day again.  For a while I was worried because I stopped after finishing 4 children’s books (under a pseudonym – you can find it in my about page) a collection of adult romantic short stories.  Some might think that’s enough but not to someone who asked for a typewriter for Christmas when they were in grade school.

My pile of unfinished novels haunted and taunted me.  I was busy but even busy people find a way to follow through on their passion.  The lack of words scared me.  I heard other authors talk about how stories end of up in grave.  Something had to be done so I put myself in my own writer’s rehab.  Last year, I forced myself to go through 30 days of writing prompts without excuses.  There were days when I last focus and motivation but I did it.  I repeated the process over and over until writing a short story was easier and easier.

Preptober arrived and then NaNoWriMo.  The Universe knew and threw in every obstacle possible so to keep myself on track and on a writing role, I created my blog.  Researching and reviewing my writer for so many days in a row improved my writing.  You know the cringe you get when you at your some of your early pieces?  Yes, that happened and I was pleased by the feeling because growth happened.

I’ve come to one conclusion – the only thing you can do to keep improving your writing is to keep writing!  The pieces will come together.  Just trust the process.  It also helps to create a process of your own.  Mix what you learn from other authors with your own.

Well, I’m off for another victory dance in my living room!

Follow as I post on my progress throughout the month and share the experience.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
