My day of rest turned into a working day. Instead of grilling hot dogs outside in the near 100 degree weather, I was making miniature hot dog earrings from clay in the comfort of my air conditioning. The end of our Minnesota State Fair went out with one of the hottest days of the year.
Like I tell many people, you always know when the state fair is here because the temperatures soar. After these past few weeks, I’m looking forward to cooler fall weather. I just hope our wild seasonal changes give us a fall. A longer fall and spring would be my ideal experience of the four seasons. Okay, maybe just a short winter and I could adjust to a longer summer. As long as I don’t have to drive during the winter, I’m fine with it.
No matter what season I’m in, my plan this year to participate in art and craft events at least once a month is still underway. So far, I’ve surpassed the number of sales from last year, so it’s been going well. However, the amount of pieces needed for each show has left me little energy for my writing.
As long as I keep going, hopefully, there will be more time for writing and art in my future. Saving up for enough months to transition into just one job is taking a lot longer and after going through several business ideas in the past everything does take a lot longer than you want it to.
What is my dream life? Living off of my writing and art while traveling the world. Isn’t that everyone’s dream? Well, for the past few years I’ve been trying to figure out how to make it a reality. To keep my sanity while going after my dreams, sometimes I softly chant to myself just keep creating.
Nothing would be lost if I keep creating because overtime I making new opportunities for my dream to come true. No wishing I had that novel ready or that I make that miniature creation because I’ve already hit one of my financial goals this year, and I have a few more months to go.
Once again, I’m sending the echoes of my dreams out into the universe for them to take shape. I want more than star dust. My leaping legs are ready, and a few hops closer than the last time I spoke about taking big leap. Is this taking longer than expected? Yes. Why? I don’t want to leap into poverty. Having some more lily pads to land on during the beginning of my journey seemed like the smarter choice.
Wish my luck as we go into the winter months.
