I hope our last deep freeze is over because I’m ready to shed all these extra layers of clothes. This past weekend my ears almost froze off as I carried in my totes to our table space for our second event of the year. Once again, I was surrounded by those who were trying make their own small businesses go.
My husband and I took note of table displays we liked and we caught up with a few other creators that we met at the last event. Being able to connect with other people who have the same passion gave us a boost to brave the ups and downs of having a self-owned business.
The best part was watching other people at the event run around during breaks supporting and buying from each other. I hope I encouraged those around me to pursue their dreams and to weather through show lulls. I’ve been through shows with zero sales because the event was too new. I’ve also been on the other end with packed shows and no time for bathroom breaks because so many people want to buy something.
As warmer weather approaches all over the country, I hope that everyone gets the chance to make it to a book event or art show to connect and encourage. Maybe we could all spend some time writing outside.
Since we’re at the start of the week, let’s get it started on the right note. There is no writing prompt for today. I would like you to read someone else’s blog, book, or online post and hit the “like” button or leave a comment. I know I have some catching up to do with those I follow. Start the beginning of the week by showing another writer that you support them!
Until tomorrow! My posts are Monday to Friday!
