It’s hump day and I’m repeating the phrase, “my circus, my monkeys,” because the frenzy of building up handmade inventory is in full swing. I’m spinning the dream of having an online store that I can turn into a real income stream on one hand, and my dream of publishing another book on the other.
Practice makes perfect. I know both can happen because I’ve published books and managed to keep creating handmade miniatures at the same time. I’ve also managed a corporate job in-between because I like things like insurance and a way to build a retirement fund.
I’ve followed entrepreneurs for years because I want to build more than one income stream and having one was a scary ride after the past few years. Until I reach 7 figures, I’m not going to stop trying. I don’t know if you have a financial goal, but I know we’ve all dreamed of being on the best seller list. It’s natural to want to be and feel “successful” in what we choose.
After going through my playlist of people I follow, I was reminded of something important that other people who reached their goals. One of them said that most people quit right before they would have broke through or reached a peak. Had they kept going, they would have achieved what they wanted. Those who succeed keep going and put their head down right when it gets tough because it’s this point that tests us all. Most people stop at this point. Those who made it, kept going.
In other words, I know it’s tough out there. Keep going even when it feels like you’re not making any progress. Write one line at a time today for 5-10 minutes so that you keep the momentum going over the hump. If you see a post tomorrow, you’ll know I made it over one of mine.
My posts are Monday through Friday.
