Mini Vacation Time

I hope everyone had some time to create some Christmas memories this year. I said create because sometimes we need to make our own when life decides to give us ones we’d rather not have. There’s still time to have a better 2021 and ring in the New Year right. You may see a few posts from me this week but it’s my time to reflect and focus before another year starts. This is my vacation week for some much needed time off.

Guess what? I’m headed out of town this week but not to anywhere glamorous. That trip that I spoke about to another small town is happening. I’ve never been to South Dakota, and it’s not the place I was expecting to visit during the winter but I here I come. I’ll spend the next few days in the middle of nowhere, and I only hope I don’t get snowed in.

A mini vacation week is in order, and I’m going looking at my foodie blogger list. I might drop in at places that were featured on Guy Fieri’s, “Diner’s, Drive-ins and Dives”. What can I say, this one isn’t just a writing trip. It’s a I’ve watched too many Netflix shows about food and I need a quiet place to finish all of my year end paid projects from other writers.

I decided to head west because I’ve had to travel to North Dakota and Iowa too many times. During the holiday rush I’d rather avoid the airport chaos and what to be under 6 hours of drive time. That left me with a small town in South Dakota. Have you ever closed your eyes and looked down to see where your finger landed? Well, it wasn’t quite like that. This is part location assignment and google maps.

If I find enough interesting places to visit, I might return again during warmer weather with my husband. But I have to say that most of my places I want to visit aren’t for the literary writing scene, it’s for the food. I’m the kind of the person that wants to discover the hole in the wall places with cheap food that’s as good as mom’s. I’ll let you know my reviews in January! Happy New Year!

Until next year! My posts are Monday through Friday.

I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
