A new month has begun and I hear bells jingling. Okay, maybe it’s the cow bell I picked up for my mom to ring at her place in country that we all call “the farm”. If your wondering why I gave her that present, it’s because she asked. Cow bells are part of country decor. The real joke is that she wanted a loud bell to ring for my father because he doesn’t hear so well. Something needs to get his attention.
My family laughs now but in the back of our minds, we ask is this life as we age? All the things that you hear parents and people you know as they get older starts to make sense as you age, whether you want it to or not. Do I want to be on the Progressive commercial where you’re turning into your parents? Well, I hope I can keep the good things they taught me and fix parts they wanted to improve as they aged. I can’t agree with that commercial completely because there are parts I want to keep, and let’s face it – we all think we can do better until it’s our turn to do it.
So what if you’re wearing something that was in style when your mom or dad were young, and you don’t know it. My sister-in-law just pointed out a pre-teen wearing a mullet like he had no idea that was once at it’s height in the early 90’s? Are you feeling your age yet?
I don’t know about you but my husband and I were looking at ugly Christmas sweaters to see if anyone of them were better than the ones we have. Sometimes, it’s okay to go with trends to create a memory together. Speaking of creating memories – this is my theme for December. I need to find a special experience for us this weekend so that we can keep building our 12 dates of Christmas together. I’ll post as the month moves forward.
My posts are Monday through Friday.
