Hump Day!

Is it the middle of the week already?  I think I need to hump something.  Yes, I did just write that sentence.  What I really mean is that I need to get my next journal over any  detours that bring me closer to the finish line.  All the events and help I’ve been giving other authors has put some of my own deadlines out further than expected.

I had grand plans this summer of a publishing frenzy but it turned into art projects and events.  There was the plus of bringing my published books to the events but it’s still not goal I had in mind.  I wanted to publish an inspirational journal with exercises to help others reach their goals.  I don’t know if I can call that irony or not but this is the way things always happen.

It seems like there’s never enough time for everything.  Good thing I’ve learned from other entrepreneurs.  They’ve taught me flexibility when things don’t go the way you expect, and to pivot when necessary.  My journey has led me to a new kind of publishing – journal publishing or ways to help other people with similar problems.

The best part is that it gave me the experience to help another author that I’ve been working with for a few years.  Publishing the journals helped spark a idea for his next book.  He shares his business experience to help other people create good business practices and gain business but he never created a lesson book or journal to help other people reach their business goals.  His next book was born and fit in well with the content of his other teachings.

What’s my point?  I’ve said it before.  Be open as an author to different kinds of publishing.  You may have a genre in mind but sharing your knowledge or interests with an audience might become the best seller you’ve always wanted.  Things don’t happen the way we expect.  I guess that’s what I’ve trying to say.  You don’t have to give up your love for writing fiction but keep in mind that there’s one way to become a bestseller today.

Writer’s who need help can take a look at my Writer’s Journal filled with writing prompts and exercises. You can find a copy at https://www.amazon.com/Writers-Journal-Writing-Prompts-Notes/dp/B0931QRL7C.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
