Doggy Headlines

Today’s writing prompt is something that a lot of writer’s add into their resource box.  Many writer’s cut out stories from newspapers or magazines and save them in a box to use later.  In fact, many thriller writer’s use this as part of their research for new stories.  We all know that headlines turn into books and movies in today’s culture.

Let’s start building up our box of real life stories to make our process easier.  In fact, many things that happen right now are stranger than fiction.  Why not make things easier for ourselves and use those headlines for story telling.

For those who are tech savvy, you can save a digital file to hold all your story clippings from online.  Pin to your boards.

Our resource for today’s research is going to Pinterest. Just type in “Funny Dog Headlines” and let the other pinning friendly dog lovers do the work. My wonderful State of Minnesota has an article about a town re-electing a their dog for Mayor.

Possibilities are endless. I’ve watched a show in New Zealand that taught dogs to drive cars. There’s also headlines of owners driving under the influence and blaming the driving on their dog. I mean, this habit must have formed in grade school when they didn’t finish their homework.

Happy Headline hunting tonight!

My posts are Monday through Friday. You can find a copy of my new Writer’s Journal at https://www.amazon.com/Writers-Journal-Writing-Prompts-Notes/dp/B0931QRL7C.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
