Action In Motion

Friday is here and I’m one day away from my meeting with the committee members who will decide what’s going onto their wall space in during the month of July and August.  My paint brush is recovering from a quick frenzy of first layers for my new scheme of pastels. Swishes and strokes of pinks and blues are layered across an unused canvas.

All the balls are in the air and I’m a tired juggler but sometimes we need to push our limits. This week is about late nights for editing reviews, a few strokes of the keys to keep up my own writing, and then a bounce to my paint set. I’ve learned to deal with this thing called life and adulting. Normal means that everything can and will happen at once. I let out a sigh and smile to myself. This isn’t my first circus. I can do this.

One thing I’ve also learned is to take of opportunities when they happen even if I’m not feeling it because you never know when the next one will come. Then, being the creative person I am, I’ve learned to stop waiting and create my own opportunities. Action and motion attracts. Sometimes, they happen all at once. We only live once, so be brave.

Remember, as soon as you choose to do something and take action, the universe will sniff it out and test you. You’ll get nay sayers and advice from people you never asked who tell you all the reasons why it’s not possible. They’re appear out nowhere and you’ll wonder why you started. Close your eyes and ears. Let go and stay in motion. Just keep going and pass them by because just about all of those people never made the attempt to do what you set out to do.

Don’t wait to feel inspired. Just start typing or taking action until things click. It’s rare that first drafts are perfect. We had to learn to walk, talk, and tie our shoes but we just did it. Keep up the action until it becomes routine.

Well, I have to keep the balls moving again. Until next week!

My posts are Monday through Friday. You can find a copy of my new Writer’s Journal at https://www.amazon.com/Writers-Journal-Writing-Prompts-Notes/dp/B0931QRL7C.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
