Feeding Your Dreams

I know I’ve been quiet on my blog but I’ve been busy. At the start of February I took a big leap of faith and quit my 9 to 5. Some of you know this because you read my earlier blog but I didn’t go into depth about my plans for this first month. So, I’m sharing a little more today.

When I made my decision and the final day at my desk approached I felt a huge search of inspiration and hope. Yes, there was a little fear of the unknown but the feeling I had about how much time I was taking back in my life overwhelmed everything else. I did a little dance in my car in the parking lot.

Then, I started my vlog. Yes, I spent the nights before revamping my art channel on YouTube. Sitting under the bad florescent lighting, I did something else gutsy. I committed to my next goal. I hit the record button and documented my experience. Remember to hit the record button was something I always forgot until that moment.

I promised myself I would record my vlog every day for the next 30 days, and then I followed through on what I said. To be honest, I did have doubts because it’s something I’ve always wanted to do, but never did before. I don’t think I truly believed my words but I did it.

My video count on my YouTube channel is over 60. Because I recorded my promise, I wasn’t about to back out. Having to make a YouTube video on what I was doing at my studio desk every day pushed me to create. Not only did I have to create a video but I had to show that I was working on my craft.

I even managed to get in a few blogs at the same time. My inventory count continues to go up as well. There’s no more excuses.

Some of you might wonder how I’m supporting myself financially. Well, I saved before I leapt. I knew I needed time to creat more pieces, so that I have something to sell. So, am I rich yet. No but I have faith.

That leads me to my final point. I heard this from a pastor and I’m going to paraphrase. He said to have faith and to feed what we want to grow. I know some of your beliefs out there might vary but I’m following his message. Instead of feeding doubt and fear I’m going to listen to that message. I’m focusing my building faith, and feeding abundance rather than doubt. Stop feeding the wrong things and start focusing on what you need to grow.

I’ll leave you with that thought and what it will take to shift your mindset to the right place. I’m heading off to go feed my dreams. I hope you do the same.
