I looked at the list today, and my immediate thought was how boring. I don’t know why I had that thought but the word prompt of the day is – Open. I guess my brain finds opening boring. I would never tell this to those writing queries but it feels like the kind of homework that leaves your brain wrecked. Getting the right kinds of words into the first paragraph or to potential agents can cause endless re-writing.
Maybe my challenge of the day is to change my feeling around the word, Open. Grand openings equal excitement – it’s like a glimpse into someone else’s hopes and dreams. The clink of a bell of a door opening would be welcome to store owners. You’re pet might even wait for the sound of the door opening to go batsh— crazy.
Someone out there might be able to help me change my perception of this word. Please share what you do with this prompt for the day and comment. I will be working on different ways to ink this word.
