“For your born writer, nothing is so healing as the realization that he has come upon the right word.” -Catherine Drinker Brown
Let the brain sparks fly this weekend and may you have multiple moments of brilliance. I had to share this quote to inspire the moment when all the words you type finally connect and give you that feeling that makes you take a deep breath.
Novelists share the the same as poets but with fewer words. Only leaving a few sentences on the page to express the motion of 250 pages takes practice and experience. Yet, what poets do is the essence of what we should work toward as novelists. Meaning in words without drowning someone in metaphors and too many adjectives.
Our goal today and the rest of the weekend is to make an impact on the page with fewer words. Keep the pages simple, clean, and full of character.
