Creative Weekends

Sunday is here an everyone in Minnesota wonders why the East Coast received our winter storm.  Sorry New York but most of us hear are happy to miss one for once.  Maybe this is Mother Nature’s way of apologizing to us for snowing before Halloween.  We were all worried that the early storm was a prediction of our winter but it’s oddly quiet here.

No snow before Christmas, we don’t know what to do here.  Okay, some of us celebrated.  Yes, we’re Minnesota “nice” but we laugh when other States don’t know what to do when it snows. A dusting of snow causes panic in some places but we just say a few words under our breath because we know it’s inevitable when the flakes start to fly.

This weekend, I have another reason to celebrate.  I made the decision to keep my challenge posts during the work week only.  Saturday and Sunday should be reserved for fun, and my mind needs the break.

I’m tucked away in my blankets and holiday movies while I work on handmade miniatures. The holidays usually mean handmade gifts from me to family members. These aren’t grade school crafts.  I made realistic miniature sculptures of foods, animals, or whatever catches my fancy.  The point is to make something from my hands that’s more than a gift card.

I hope you can find time to find your own handmade creation, and share it with someone.  And it’s okay if it turns out like a grade school project.  The point is that you took the time to make something with your own two hands and gave someone a unique memory.  Not feeling creative or brave enough?  Support someone who can make something unique and share it with someone you love.

I’ll post again tomorrow.  Right now, I have to go dance again because we missed a storm.

Follow Monday through Friday as I take MasterClass Online.

I’m an author in Minnesota who started out writing and illustrating Children’s books. I’ve published poetry and adult Romance Novels. I created my website and social media to reach out to other writers because the process can be lonely. I wanted to reach out to readers, writers, and those with a dream of finishing “that” novel. I share the advice of other writers and the tools I use to create my stories.
