Thank you for visiting!
As a child, my Christmas list wasn’t all trending with popular toys. To my parent’s surprise I asked for a typewriter and Santa delivered. Was it the prettiest thing I received that year? No, thinking back on the memory it was loud, heavy, and clunky. It was a recycled office typewriter from the early 90s but I loved it.
I used to spend hours writing stories before I knew how the spell. My homemade books with the staples in the middled were filled with squiggles, symbols, and drawings. Yet, I knew every story. There were heroes, heroines, princess, and princes.
My writing turned more adult these days and my 90s typewriter went to the grave. However, I found an older antique at a thrift store that keeps me inspired with memories of the classics. Travels around the world have changed the settings of some of my novels and I have about 5 going at one time.
Why so many at one time? During my writing process, I stop after a few chapters to distance myself from the story to see if it’s moving in the right direction. Then, I try clear my mind and keep going. My process practices letting go of pieces that don’t work and continuing with the ones that are necessary.
I’ll share my process, struggles, and little triumphs as I work on my novels. I’m hoping you join me. Each month I create a new challenge with one goal in mind. A finished novel.
