The end of the week is here and my writing muse is calling. That inner voice reminded me to get something down on paper and to stay consistent even if I’m on summer mode.
My fingers can feel when I start to get off track and that came from practicing and writing every day for a few years. Even if I had a notebook with one paragraph or a few sentences it was something.
I think my plan for the rest of the summer is to go a little Hemingway and find my one true sentence again. After binging on a few new shows while I create my miniature art, I heard the screen play writers quote other writers. Immediately, I thought, “I want that.”
Words that ring truth are hard to find and they take a lot of practice but I know it can done. I see a lot of lines being crossed out in my future but I feel this practice if simplifying words is necessary exercise. It also pushes the limits of what I think I can do.
So, I’m ending the week with an exercise instead of a prompt this week. Write for 5-10 minutes but pick a topic right around you. Then, review and simplify. Do it again and again until you find one true sentence.
My posts are Monday to Friday.
